EDL Field — Terms of Use
These terms cover the EDL Field app (field.edlconstructions.com and the installed mobile app) provided by EDL Construction Corp, CSLB #778430, mailing address 995 Marsh Rd., STE 102, Redwood City, CA 94063 ("EDL", "we"). By signing in you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects.
1. Who may use the app
EDL Field is a work tool for EDL's crew, subcontractors and office staff. Accounts are issued by EDL; the crew signs in with a phone number and a one-time code, the office with an invited email login or a Google or Apple sign-in. You must be at least 18 and must not share your sign-in or use someone else's.
2. What the app is for
Clocking in and out, recording meal breaks, seeing the day's tasks, requesting materials, reporting problems, uploading photos and receipts, and, for the office, running the jobs. Hours you record are the basis of your pay, so record them truthfully and only for yourself. The app is not a substitute for your employment agreement, EDL's policies, or a safety rule on site.
3. Location, texts and notifications
The app reads your location only when you clock in or out, to confirm you are at the job. On a job with a site boundary you cannot clock in from the phone without it; call the office and your time will be recorded for you. Work text messages are sent only if you opt in, and you can stop them at any time by replying STOP (see the SMS Terms). If the installed app offers notifications, you can turn them off in your phone's settings.
4. What you submit
Reports, photos, receipts, requests and notes you submit become part of EDL's job records and may be shared with the client, inspectors, suppliers or subcontractors for that job as needed to do the work. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share, anything unrelated to the job, or anything that would identify a client's family or belongings beyond what the work requires.
5. Acceptable use
Do not try to reach other people's records, bypass the sign-in, record hours or submit receipts that are not yours, or use the app for anything other than EDL's work. We may suspend an account that does.
6. Your account
You can delete your account from the app (tap your name, then Delete my account) or at edlconstructions.com/delete-account. Records the law requires us to keep, such as hours and pay, are retained for the legal period. EDL may close accounts of people who no longer work with EDL.
7. Availability and changes
The app is provided as is. It may be unavailable at times, and it is not a safety system: if the app is down, write your hours on paper and tell the office. You are paid for all the hours you work, whether or not the app recorded them. We may change the app and these terms; when the terms change we will update the date above and, for changes that matter, say so in the app.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, EDL is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as an employee or contractor under California law.
